A history lesson…

By Geno Stampora on September 30, 2016

People say if you’re hungry, you’ll succeed. I was hungry, but it was only until I realized I had to change me that I could be. It took about 35 years and dozens of mentors to see who was inside of me. I made a decision to change, to stop drifting, to focus and be on point. It was an intentional choice. We all have the same choice, every day. But it takes guts. It takes the courage to step out of your comfort zone and make the changes. If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten. It was time for me to change things up. I wanted to be with smart people with integrity. I went to the library. I grew myself. I paid attention. I took Led Zeppelin out; I put in the …

8 Movie Quotes Entrepreneurs Live By, Written by John Hayes

By Geno Stampora on November 11, 2016

There’s nothing us marketers love more than a good old inspirational quote. Your social media network of choice is probably bursting with “wise words” from the great and good throughout history, designed to kick you in the butt and inspire you to go on and do greater things (or at the very least earn a few social media “likes” along the way). The movies are a great source of inspiration when it comes to getting the creative juices flowing. Just for fun, we’ve compiled 8 of our favorite quotes from the silver screen that could have easily been written in the pages of a business manual. 1. “If you build it, they will come”: Actually a misquote from the classic baseball movie “Field of Dreams.” The actual quote stated “If you build it, he will come” – but you get …

FIVE KEYS WAYS TO PERSONALLY BRAND YOURSELF

By Geno Stampora on October 28, 2016

1. DEVELOP A DIALOGUE OF INTRODUCTION THAT INCLUDES WHAT YOU DO FOR A LIVING. BE PREPARED WHEN SOMEONE ASKS YOU WHAT YOU DO. WORK ON A DIFFERENTIATING FACTOR ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU DO. MAKE IT A WEEK LONG VENTURE THAT YOU LOOK AT AND WORK ON EVERY DAY. MY EXAMPLE IS: I AM SO GLAD YOU ASKED, I AM A HAIR IMAGE PROFRESSIONAL. I WORK WITH A GREAT TEAM OF PROS WHO ARE ALL EXCEELLENT AT WHAT THEY DO AND OUR PASSION SHOWS. I WOULD BE HONORED AT THE OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE A STYLE JUST FOR YOU. HERE IS MY CARD . PLEASE CALL OR COME BY AND SAY HELLO. 2. DEVELOP A PHONE LOG. CALL EVERYONE YOU KNOW AND REMIND THE=M THAT THE GREATEST WAY TO BUILD IN BEAUTY IS THROUGH PERSONAL REFERALS. ASK THEM TO GET INVOLVED …

FIVE WAYS TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS

By Geno Stampora on October 14, 2016

There are many avenues to choose when it comes to growing your business in beauty. The best way, of course, is through personal experiences and people you already know! Begin with this thought in mind: marketing in beauty is a 365 day, 24 hour campaign that should never be forgotten. Everyone, everything, and every place can become a marketing mecca. 1. Make a list of all of the people close to you including your family, friends, and neighbors that you know well. Draft a simple letter and or card and ask them to help you grow by sending in people they know that you could help. “Dear Bob, Please help me. I am on a campaign to build some new business. Who do you know that you could give my card to and ask them to visit me at the …

If You Read, You Succeed!

By Geno Stampora on September 1, 2012

If you read, you succeed!  I have always believed this. I find that summertime is a great time to read and to reread old favorites.  This summer has proven to be a great one for books that matter to me and my profession.  I also took the time to reread a few old faves and see if there is something I forgot or something that makes more sense now than before. The old faves are:  Booked Solid by Paul DiGrigoli, Self-Made in America by John McCormack, Be Nice (or Else!)  by Winn Claybaugh, and No Compromise Leadership by Neil DuCoff. These are just a few of the awesome books that deal directly with our industry and/or are written by industry icons.  I am honored to say that all of these authors are personal friends of mine.  Not only are they each very successful, they are constantly …

I Am Deserving

By Geno Stampora on March 9, 2015

Many of you have heard me read you the letter: “I Am Deserving”. Written by Louise I. Hay, the words in this letter offer us a reminder that we are responsible for our destiny. We do not have to remain or be a victim of the negative thoughts, opinions or limitations place on us by others! We, alone, have the key to be….WHATEVER WE WANT!                     WE    ARE    DESERVING ! ! I AM DESERVING…. I am responsible for me. I will not allow others to occupy space in my mind if they limit my thinking. I deserve more.  I deserve a good life.  I deserve to be all I can be!       Enjoy your copy of this letter.  Read it often.  Print it.  Frame it. Be deserving.
